Falcons Turn Back Rochester!
The Notre Dame Falcons (2-0) were tested for the first time in 2009 on Saturday on the hardwood. Eric Dummermuth had his second 20+ point game in as many days as Notre Dame was a 53-49 winner over Rochester (Michigan) on Saturday. Dummermuth was 9 of 11 from the floor and 5 of 7 at the charity stripe in 39 minutes of game action. Nick McCartney was the only other member of the "blue and white" in double digits (11 points). McCartney was only 3 of 11 from the floor in the game. McCartney added 5 assists to go with his 11 points. The Falcons only shot 38 percent from the floor and only drained 2 of 13 from beyond the arc. They were good on 15 of 20 (75%) from the foul line.
Rochester (6-1) dropped their first game of the season after a six game win streak to begin 2009. Michael Graham led the way with 17 points for Rochester. Drammell Hogan added 12 on 5 of 6 shooting. Torey Throop added 9 points and 6 boards. Rochester shot 36 percent from the floor. They were 7 of 25 from beyond the arc. The Falcons will be back in action Tuesday when they battle Mount Vernon Nazarene. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM.
