Lady Storm Comeback Attempt Falls Short!

As has been the case so often this season the Lake Erie woman dug to big a hole for themselves to dig out of in the first half and it was to much to overcome. The Lady Storm (6-18) had their comeback attempt fall short 60-57.

The Urbana Blue Knights (13-10)were led by a double-double from Jalyssa Jackson (15 pts, 14 rebounds),
Vanessa Gantz (13), Tia Simms (11) and Haley Ducey tallied double figures for the Lady Knights.  Urbana was 18-53 (34 percent) from the field.  The Lady Knights made good on 3 of 6 from long range.  Urbana was a solid 21-27 (77%) from the charity stripe.
Lake Erie was led by 16 points from Renese Adams.  She only was 6 of 20 from the floor in the game. Britt Busson and Stephanie Rogers added 13 apiece for the Lady Storm.  Lake Erie shot just 38 percent from the field.  They struggled from long range (1 of 15) and at the charity stripe (14-23).
As has been the case so many times this season Lake Erie fell behind big at the break. It was 41-26 for the Lady Knights at halftime.  Lake Erie then would outscore Urbana 31-19 in the second half but it woudn't be enough.  Renese Ames had a three that went off the front rim with 5 seconds to go that would have tied it. After a missed front end of a one and one by Jalyssa Jackson the Lady Storm would have one last chance but time expired before a three point attempt could be hoisted.  Lake Erie will be back in action when they play at Northern Kentucky Tuesday. Tip time is set for 7 PM.
