Wolf's Return Sparks Tars Past 17th Ranked Southern!

Nick Wolf came off the bench to spark a 16-3 Rollins run  after the Tars opened Saturday afternoon trailing Florida Southern 6-0 in the Tars' 85-72 win, which was the conference opener for both teams.

Rollins (4-2) placed five players in double figures.  The sophomore tandem of Jeremy Sharpe and Nick Wolf had 19, and 16 points respectively.  Wolf added 8 rebounds while Sharpe notched six assists.  Zach Pancratz had 11, Kevin Hogan netted 10 and Julian Wilkison had a career high 9  as the Tars sent the Mocs to their third straight defeat.   The Tars shot 30-56 (54%) and hit 6 0f 18 three pointers.  Rollins was 19 of 29 at the charity stripe.
Florida Southern (6-4) was led by Zach Smith with 15 points, John Thompson scored 13, while Braxton Williams and Brandon Jenkins had 10 "apiece".  The Tars' stifling zone defense held the Moccasins to 28-62 (36%) shooting and just 6 of 34 (18%) from three point land.  Notably, the Tars held last year's Rollins killer and Freshman of the Year Rion Rayfield to just 3 points on 1 of 12 shooting, including 1 of 11 from three.  The Mocs dominated the glass out rebounding Rollins 48-32.  The Tars will take this week off for finals, and will be back in action Monday when they face Southeastern University.  You can catch the action on the Citizen Bank of Tars Sports network at WWW.RollinsSports.TV and on WPRK 91.5 FM Winter Park.
