NDC Travels To Wheeling Thursday.
The Notre Dame College Falcons (16-10 10-10 MEC) travel to Wheeling Jesuit to battle the Cardinals (20-6 14-6 MEC) on Thursday night. Tip time is set for 730 PM and you can catch all the action on NotreDameFalcons.com.
NDC is coming off a tough 95-87 loss to Concord at Murphy Gym Saturday and have now lost four of the past five. Will Vorhees scored 27 points- grabbed six rebounds- and- dished out six assists in the defeat- Kyauta Taylor added 24- while Ja'Sean Lewis scored 13 points- grabbed six rebounds- and- dished out seven assists in the contest. Tommy Bolte led Concord with 26 points.
NDC comes into the contest averaging 83.1 points per game- while they allow 82.3 points per contest. The Falcons have been solid on the glass where they out rebound the opponent 41.3 rebounds a night to 37.4 rebounds a contest.
Vorhees continues to lead the way for NDC averaging 26.1 points and 10.4 rebounds a game- Taylor puts up 21.2 points a night- while Drew Scarberry averages 10.5 points a contest. Ja'Sean Lewis continues to stuff the stat sheet averaging nine points- 10 rebounds- and- 5.5 assists per contest.
Wheeling is coming off of a 85-67 win at West Virginia Wesleyan last time out. The victory gave the Cardinals 20 wins for the third consecutive season. Six players from Wheeling scored in double figures in the victory. Haywood Highsmith paced Wheeling with 17 points- Kyle Ritz added 16- Pat Moesh scored 14- Dominique Tham scored 12 points and nine rebounds- while Preston Boswell and Jarin Hillson added 10 points each.
The Cardinals average 83.6 points a game offensively- while they allow 72.8 points on the defensive end. Haywood Highsmith is one of five Cardinals averaging in double figures on the season. He puts up 14.5 points and grabs 9.4 rebounds per contest- Eric Siefert also averages 14.5 a game, while he adds 4.2 assists a night. Justin Fritts scores 14.2 points a game- Kyle Ritz adds 12.9 points per contest-and- Pat Moesh rounds out the double digit scorers at 11.9 points a contest.
