NDC Battles Surging Concord Saturday.
The Notre Dame College Falcons will continue a quick two game home stand when they welcome the surging Mountain Lions of Concord to Murphy Gym Saturday. You can catch video of the game on NotreDameFalcons.com.
NDC (16-9 10-9 MEC) is coming off a 93-86 win over Virginia Wise Thursday night that snapped a three game losing slide. Drew Scarberry knocked down eight 3-pointer's on his way to 26 points- while both Kyauta Taylor and Will Vorhees scored 24- Vorhees added 17 rebounds. Ja'Sean Lewis scored 12 points- grabbed 12 rebounds- dished out seven assists- and- blocked five shots in the victory.
The Falcons come into Saturday averaging 83 points a game on offense- at the defensive end they allow 81.8 a contest. The Falcons enjoy a four plus rebound advantage (41.4 to 37.3 on the season.)
Individually Vorhees paces the Falcons attack averaging 26.1 points and 10.6 rebounds a night- Taylor scores 21.1 a contest and leads the team in steals with 37- Scarberry has been red hot of late and averages 10.6 points a night and shoots 47 percent from the 3-point line.
The Mountain Lions (9-16 5-14) come in having won four of the last five- last time out they were a 98-91 winner over Urbana on Thursday night. Aaron Miller led four players in double figures in that game with 27 points- Tommy Bolte scored 23- Michael Sanchez added 16- and- Babe Murphy chipped in 11.
Miller leads the season box score averaging 19.9 points a night- Thompson averages 11.5 points and a team high 5.8 rebounds a contest- while Sanchez averages 10.8 a night. Sanchez also leads the team in assists with just over four a night. Concord scores 81.2 points a game on the offensive end- while they give up 85.6 on the defensive end.
The two teams met on January 8th with the Falcons coming out on top 95-87 in the first meeting. Five Falcons scored in double figures in that one led by Vorhees with 31. On the other side of the ledger Concord had three in double figures in that game led by Miller with 22.
