Second Half Stinker.

The Notre Dame College Falcons were held to a season low 61 points, including 26 in the second half and fell 71-61 to the Golden Eagles of Charleston on Saturday. With the loss NDC drops to 15-7 and 9-7 in the MEC. The surging Golden Eagles improve to 13-9 and 7-9 in the MEC with a third straight conference win.
Ja'Sean Lewis led four Falcons in double figures in the defeat- Drew Scarberry and Kyauta Taylor each netted 15- while Will Vorhees was held to 11 points and six rebounds on the day. NDC shot 34 percent as a team- 36 percent from the 3-point line (4 of 17 in the second half-) and 81 percent (13-16) at the free throw line.  NDC had nine assists and eight turnovers as a team.
The Golden Eagles were paced by 25 points from Keir Anderson- while Jaylen Hinton added nine- and- Justin Coleman had eight to go along with 10 rebounds. Charleston shot 43 percent as a team and 31 percent (8-26) from the 3-point line.  They shot 70 percent (7-10) at the free throw line and won the rebounding battle 40-30.  The Golden Eagles had 10 assists and six turnovers in this one.
The Falcons got off to a 9-0 lead after a trio of 3-pointer's by Taylor. After a Lewis jumper gave NDC a nine point lead again (11-2) at the 16:28 mark of the first half the Golden Eagles went on a 7-0 spurt to cut the lead to two (11-9.)  NDC would respond with a 11-0 run, as Vorhees knocked down a 3-pointer and then Scarberry would hit back to back 3-pointer's to make it 22-9 at the 11:14 mark of the opening half. NDC would see the Golden Eagles trim the lead to five (35-30) at the half.
The second half was a whole different story. The Falcons would struggle offensively and Charleston would shorten the game by controlling the tempo.  The Golden Eagles scored the first 10 points of the half and led 40-35. Anderson hit a pair of 3-pointer's to get the half started.  NDC would score the next five points and knot the game at 40. Charleston would regain the lead that they would not relinquish. Taylor got NDC to within one (52-51) with 9:54 to go but that is as close as they would get. The lead would be stretched to 10 (66-56) after a 14-5 run by Charleston at the 3:27 mark.
The Golden Eagles would cruise to victory from there.
