Falcons Can't Hang on Monday.

The Notre Dame Falcons saw a seven point halftime lead slip away and ultimately lost 74-70 against the Cavaliers of Virginia Wise Monday.
  The lose evened NDC's conference record at 1-1 and they are now 1-4 overall. While the win improved Virgina Wise to 4-0 and 2-0 in the Mountain East conference.
  Charles George and Javon Moore paced the Cavaliers with 22 points each. Matt Day posted a double-double (17 points- and 13- rebounds.) The Cavaliers shot 35 percent from the field in the game. They shot just 27 percent (6-22) from the 3-point line. The Cavaliers struggled at the free throw line, where they shot 62.5 percent (20-32.) Wise crushed NDC on the boards 51-39. UVA-Wise had 13 assists and 10 turnovers.
  NDC was paced by the familiar duo of Jarvis Huntley (23 points) and Lawrence DeArmond (21 points.) Tyree Gaiter added 12 points to go along with seven assists. Kaloma Figueroa- Jackson chipped in a double-double (10 points- and 10- rebounds.) NDC shot 41 percent from the field and 41 percent from the 3-point line. The Falcons shot just 61 percent (17-28) at the foul line. The Falcons had 15 assists and 13 turnovers.
  The Cavaliers jumped out to a 9-3 lead early and led by that six point margin nearly five minutes in.  NDC would score the game's next 11 points and lead 14-9. The Cavaliers would score the next five points to knot the game at 14. NDC would counter and lead by six (20-14) after scoring the next six points. The Falcons would lead by as many as nine (28-19) in the opening half. They would lead 33-26 at the half.
  The Falcons would lead by as many as 12 (48-36) in the second half, before the Cavaliers came storming back. The Cavs would finally take their first lead 60-59 with 5:48 to go on a pair of Day free throws. NDC would battle back and would take a 66-63 lead on a 3-pointer and another bucket by DeArmond. The Cavs would score the next 11 points and lead by seven (73-66.) A pair of Figueroa-Jackson would get the Falcons to within three but that is as close as they would get.
  NDC will be back in action on Monday December 2nd. The home opener will pit the Falcons against Ohio Midwestern. Tip time at Murphy Gym is set for 7 PM.
