Former Rollins Golfer Oppenheim's Career Continues to Shine!!
If you met Rob Oppenheim in the street or just talked to him for a few minutes you would never know that he has had as successful a golf career as he has had. The Oppenheim family have all stuck to the Sunshine State Conference throughout the years. Rob was born in Salem, Massachussets on January 12,1980. He was raised and educated in Andover, Massachusetts and graduated from Andover High School in 1998. Rob was a all scholastic golf and baseball player. The middle of three children, Rob has a younger sister Jill who is 28 years old and a older brother Kenny who is 32. Jill played tennis at Rollins while Kenny played one year of golf at Lynn University in Boca Raton. In 1999 the year after Rob graduated high school he finished in the round of 16 at the U.S. amateur. Rob had a very illustrious career at Rollins College. He was a 4 time all american golfer in Winter Park from 1999-2002. 2002 was a banner year for both Rob Oppenheim and the Tars. Rob was the Division 2 player of the year in his Senior year (2002) and the Tars would go on to win the division 2 golf national championship the same year. Rob would win the Massachusetts amateur father-s0n championship with his dad in 2002. In September of 2002 Rob would begin his pro career. He would play on several tours including the PGA, Nationwide, Canadian, Hooters, Cleveland, New England and Moonlight tours. Rob would be the player of the year as well as the leading money winner on the Cleveland Tour in 2005. Oppenheim would be second on the the order of merit on the Canadian Tour in 2006. In 2009 Rob would qualify for unconditional status on the nationwide tour at PGA Q school at Bear Lakes in West Palm Beach, Florida.
