Falcons Knock Off Blue Knights.

The Notre Dame Falcons (7-11) knocked off the Urabana Blue Knights 96-87 on Wednesday night for just there second road win of the season.
  In a game that saw five ties and three lead changes the Falcons came away with a hard fought win. Five Falcons scored in double figures. Tyree Gaiter paced the Falcons with 26 points and nine assists in 38 minutes.  Eric Dummermuth had 20 points in 21 minutes (foul trouble.) Kareem Figueroa Jackson (12,) Lawrence DeArmond (11 points and 12 rebounds,) and Jarvis Huntley (10) rounded out the double figure scorers.  The Falcons shot 52 percent from the field and hit on  35 percent (6-17) from the 3-point line.  NDC shot 71 percent (22-31) at the foul line. The Falcons handed out 18 assists and turned the ball over 10 times.
  The Blue Knights (9-11) had four players score in double figures. They shot 50 percent (31-62) from the field. Urbana did not shoot well from the 3 point line (3-20) or from the foul line (61 percent.) The Blue Knights won on the boards 37-36. They had 16 assists and 17 turnovers.
  The Falcons will be back in action Wednesday 2/6 when they take on Central State. Tip time is set for 7 PM.

Falcons Fall To Shock Saturday.

The Notre Dame College Falcons saw a rare two game win streak come to an end Saturday when they fell to the Shock of Washington Adventist 91-75 Saturday.
 The Falcons fell to 6-11 on the season and saw the win streak end.  Four Falcons tallied double figures on the day. They were led by 18 points from Lawrence DeArmond.  Eric Dummermuth had 13, Jarvis Huntley had 12, and Raphi Tekie had 11 in the Falcons loss.  The Falcons shot 48 percent (29-60) from the field and hit seven of 18 (39 percent) from the 3-point line.  The Falcons shot 67 percent (10-15) at the free throw line.  The Falcons had 15 assists and 17 turnovers.
  The Shock improved to 8-13 on the season.  They also had four players tally double numbers on the evening.  Harvey Todd paced the Shock attack with 30 points, including 13 of 15 at the foul line.  Elliott Meredith netted 21, Guiressi Grimes had 14 and Jawan Lockhart added 12. The Shock shot 56 percent (29-52) from the field and hit 36 percent of their 3-pointers (5-14.) The shock shot a solid 80 percent (28-35) at the foul line.  Washington Adventist  nipped the Falcons on the boards 32-31.  They had 15 assists and turned the ball over 12 times.
  The Falcons will be back in action Wednesday when they battle Urbana in another road contest. Tip time is set for 7 PM.

Falcons Knock Off Dragons.

The Notre Dame Falcons (6-10) knocked off the Tiffin Dragons 91-86 Tuesday night at Murphy Gym. The win for the Falcons was there third straight at "The Murph" and fourth in five contests overall.
  The Falcons were paced by 25 points from Tyree Gaiter. The freshman from Cleveland Heights High was coming off a career high 34 points in a win over Cedarville on Saturday. Eric Dummermuth added 18 points and seven rebounds for the Falcons, while Cameron Carlin had 17 including four of seven from the 3-point line.  Jarvis Huntley also notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Falcons shot 56 percent (33-59) for the game. They shot 38 percent (8 of 21) from the 3-point line. The Falcons shot at a 81 percent clip (17-21) at the foul line.  They nipped the Dragons on the boards 34-33. The Falcons had 18 assists and 13 turnovers.  
  The Dragons fell to 6-12 on the year.  Joe Graessle paced the Dragons and led all scores with 26 points, Eric Roby had 18, and Cody Dennison added 11. The Dragons shot 46 percent (33-72) from the field and were a frigid 30 percent (7-23) from the 3 point line.  The Dragons were a solid 94 percent (13-14) at the foul line.  They had 12 assists and 11 turnovers.
  Carlin scored all 14 of his points in the opening half, including four of five from the 3 point line as the Falcons built a 48-32 halftime lead.  Gaiter scored 17 of his 25 in the second half.  The Falcons jumped out to a 15-3 lead in the early going and saw Carlin nail his first three attempts from the field.  The Falcons nailed seven 3's and held the Dragons to 35 percent shooting in building a 48-32 lead after the opening half.
  The Dragons opened the second half on a 11-2 run that would cut the Falcons lead to seven (50-43.) The Dragons would get as close as three (72-69) with 6:03 left.  Gaiter would do the rest, as the Falcons would get the 91-86 win.
       The Falcons will be back in action Saturday when they battle Washington Adventist. Tip time is set for 6:30 PM in Washington.

Gaiter's Career Day Lifts Falcons Past Jackets.

Tyree Gaiter is only a Freshman at Notre Dame College. The Cleveland Heights High product had 34 points and four assists on Saturday afternoon lifting the Falcons to the first victory in program history over Cedarville 88-83 in overtime.
  The Falcons (5-10) had lost all nine attempts to knock off the Yellow Jackets prior to Saturday. It was also the Falcons first win of the season away from Murphy Gym.  Gaiter had 34 points, four assists and six steals to pace the Falcons. Eric Dummermuth added 19 points, while Lawrence DeArmond chipped in 10.  The Falcons shot 45 percent (28-62) for the game.  They hit 36 percent of their 3-pointers (8-22) and were a solid 77 percent (24-31) at the foul line.  The Falcons had 10 assists and 12 turnovers.
  Cedarville (9-8)  had a four game win streak snapped.   The Yellow Jackets erased a nine point deficit in the last minute of regulation before ultimately falling in OT.  Zimmy Nowogbo just missed a double-double with 29 points and grabbing nine rebounds, Zach Brown chipped in 17 and Brian Grant added 12 for the Yellow Jackets.  The Jackets shot 53 percent (32-61) for the game. They could not find the range from the 3-point line.  Cedarville shot 26 percent (5-19) from three.  They shot 78 percent (14-18) at the foul line.  The Jackets had 15 assists and 24 turnovers.  The rebounding battle was even at 28 boards for both teams.
 The Falcons  got off to a solid start and would lead the entire first half. They would lead by as many as 12 a few times and would lead 39-27 at the half.  Cedarville would make a run in the middle  of the second half and cut the lead to one (52-51). The Falcons would then run off the next eight points capped by a 3-point play by Kaloma  Figuora-Jackson to make it 60-51 with 6:50 to go. The Falcons looked to be in command as they would lead 71-62 after a pair of Gaiter free throws with one minute left.  That is when the Yellow Jackets would start what would be a furious comeback to get the game into overtime.  Zach Brown hit a pair of free throws with 22 seconds left that would send the game into overtime.
 The OT saw the lead change hands four times and NDC would lead 80-79 with roughly a minute to play. After getting a stop on the defensive end the Falcons would get another big basket (this time a 3-pointer) from Figuera Jackson to go up 83-79 with 54 seconds.  The Falcons would hang on for the 88-83 win.
 The Falcons will head home Tuesday when they will take on Tiffin. Tip time at Murphy Gym is set for 7 PM.

Marauders Knock Off NDC.

Central State was a 96-82 winner over Notre Dame College Thursday night at Beacom/Lewis Gym. Central improved to 10-5 on the season, while the Falcons fell to 4-10.
  The Marauders, who shot 60 percent in the game had five players score in double figures.  DeMarkus Isom Jones paced CSU with 26 points.  He was one of two Marauders who scored more than 20 on the evening (Phillip Gates 23.)  Charles Mcneal added 13 points, while George Harper and LeDonte Body netted 10 each.  The Marauders shot 45 percent (9-20) from the 3-point line to go along with the 60 percent from the field. The Marauders shot 78 percent (7-9) at the foul line.  They had 24 assists and turned the ball over 12 times. The Marauders also had 18 steals, including five by Isom Jones.
  NDC was paced by a pair of double-doubles.  Eric Dummermuth (22 points and 12 rebounds) and Lawrence DeArmond (21 points and 10 boards posted them.  Tyree Gaiter had 10 points and four assists as well.  NDC shot 57 percent from the field. They were not as good from the 3-point line (7-23.)  The Falcons struggled at the foul line. They shot 65 percent (17-26) at the line.  NDC won the rebounding battle 37-29.  The Falcons had twice as many turnovers (20) as assists (10.)
  The Falcons are still looking for that illusive first road win and will travel to Cedarville to battle the Yellow Jackets Saturday. Tip time is set for 4 PM.

Falcons Win Second Straight.

If only the Notre Dame Falcons could find a way to win a couple games away from Murphy Gym. The Falcons (4-9) improved to 4-2 at home with a 98-80 win over Ohio Midwestern on Saturday.  The Falcons have yet to win a true road game but are 4-2 at "The Murph".  NDC had three players score in double figures.  Lawrence DeArmond poured in a game high 30 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists.  Tryee Gaiter added 17, while Eric Dummermuth chipped in 11 for NDC. The Falcons shot 49 percent (32-66) from the field and went 7-23 from the 3-point line.  The Falcons made 77 percent (27-35) free throws.  They had 24 assists and 15 turnovers.
  OMC fell to 5-10 on the year.  Greg Howard led the Rams with 28 points, Josh Chancellor netted 21, and Brandon Smith chipped in nine.  The Rams shot 44 percent (32-72) from the field.  They shot 33 percent (6-18) from the 3-point line. The Rams won the rebounding battle 41-40.  They shot 67 percent (10-15) at the foul line.  They had 13 assists and turned the ball over 25 times.
  NDC will be back in action on Thursday when they will look for that illusive first road win when they take on Central State.  Tip time is set for 7:30 PM.

Falcons Snap Skid Wednesday.

The Notre Dame Falcons (3-9) snapped a six game losing streak Wednesday night with a convincing 91-60 win over Salem International at Murphy Gymnasium. All three Falcon wins have been at Murphy Gym this season.
  The Falcons had three players score in double figures on the evening. Eric Dummermuth picked up his sixth double-double of the season, when he tallied 23 points to go along with 13 rebounds.  Jarvis Huntley had 15 points and Raphi Tekie netted 10 for NDC. The Falcons raced out to a 51-22 halftime lead and cruised to the win behind a 50 percent (32-64) shooting percentage from the field. The Falcons shot 35 percent (6-17) from the 3-point line and were a solid 75 percent (21-28) at the foul line.  The Falcons crushed Salem International on the glass 46-32.  NDC had 16 assists and turned the ball over 12 times.
  The Tigers fell to 8-9 on the season with a loss for the second time in the last three contests.  Only two players from Salem scored in double figures on the evening. Kenneth McCornell led the way with 15 points, while Raymar Porter scored 10.  The Tigers shot 38.5 percent (25-65) from the field and went 6-28 (21 percent) from the 3 point line.  The Tigers shot just 44 percent (4-9) at the free throw line.  The Tigers had twice as many turnovers (18) as assists (nine.)
  NDC will be back in action Saturday when they welcome Ohio Midwestern College to Murphy Gym. Tip time is set for 4 PM.

Falcons Fall Short Again.

The Notre Dame Falcons made it interesting on Saturday, but ultimately fell 87-85 to Trevecca Nazarene in overtime. The loss was the sixth straight for NDC and dropped them to 2-9 on the year.  The Falcons remained winless away from Murphy Gym despite four  players scoring in double figures Saturday.  Tyree Gaiter led the Falcons with 21 points to go along with seven assists,  Lawrence DeArmond tallied 16, Raphi Tekie had 13, and Jarvis Huntley chipped in 12.  The Falcons shot 48 percent from the floor and made 40 percent (12-30) from the 3-point line.  NDC did not get to the foul line often and struggled when they got there hitting 5 of 9 (56 percent).  The Falcons won the rebounding battle 38-35.  NDC had 16 assists and 15 turnovers.
  Trevecca Nazarene improved to 4-10 on the season by winning for the second time in three tries.  The Trojans were led by three players who scored in double figures.  J.P Nyadaro poured in a game high 32 points in the win.  He added 14 rebounds to complete the double-double.  Marquise Rudolph netted 16, and Maliek Daniels also posted a double-double (15 points and 11 rebounds).  The Trojans shot 56 percent from the field and 25 percent (3-12) from the 3-point line.  They shot 61 percent (14-23) at the foul line.  The Trojans had 15 assists and 13 turnovers.
    The Falcons will be back in action Wednesday when they battle Salem International at Murphy Gym.  Tip time is set for 7 PM.
