Falcons Snap Skid Wednesday.
The Notre Dame Falcons (3-9) snapped a six game losing streak Wednesday night with a convincing 91-60 win over Salem International at Murphy Gymnasium. All three Falcon wins have been at Murphy Gym this season.
The Falcons had three players score in double figures on the evening. Eric Dummermuth picked up his sixth double-double of the season, when he tallied 23 points to go along with 13 rebounds. Jarvis Huntley had 15 points and Raphi Tekie netted 10 for NDC. The Falcons raced out to a 51-22 halftime lead and cruised to the win behind a 50 percent (32-64) shooting percentage from the field. The Falcons shot 35 percent (6-17) from the 3-point line and were a solid 75 percent (21-28) at the foul line. The Falcons crushed Salem International on the glass 46-32. NDC had 16 assists and turned the ball over 12 times.
The Tigers fell to 8-9 on the season with a loss for the second time in the last three contests. Only two players from Salem scored in double figures on the evening. Kenneth McCornell led the way with 15 points, while Raymar Porter scored 10. The Tigers shot 38.5 percent (25-65) from the field and went 6-28 (21 percent) from the 3 point line. The Tigers shot just 44 percent (4-9) at the free throw line. The Tigers had twice as many turnovers (18) as assists (nine.)
NDC will be back in action Saturday when they welcome Ohio Midwestern College to Murphy Gym. Tip time is set for 4 PM.
