NDC Rolls In Home Opener.

The Notre Dame Falcons (2-4) rolled past the Ohio Midwestern Rams (5-5) 114-65 in the Falcons home opener at Murphy Gym Monday. The win was the Falcons second in it's past three contests .
  Tyree Gaiter poured in a season high 36 points (30 in the first half) in just 27 minutes for the Falcons. Gaiter was 11- of 15 from the floor and five- of- seven- from 3-point range on the night. He also made good on nine- of-11- at the free throw line. Gaiter added six assists. Lawrence DeArmond netted 19 points on the evening on seven- of- 11- shooting. Jarvis Huntley added 14, while Geovonte Rose added a double-double (12 points- and- 10- rebounds.)  Dylan Hickoff rounded out the double digit scorers with 11.  The Falcons shot  a blistering 54.4 percent (37- of- 68- from the field) and nailed 48 percent of their 3-pointer's (12- of 25.) NDC was 80 percent at the foul line (28- of- 35.) The Falcons crushed the Rams in the rebounding battle 49-29. NDC had 19 assists and 14 turnovers.
  The Rams had a pair of players score in double figures. Jalhein Teague led the way with 23 points for Ohio Midwestern. Robbie Smythe added 16, while Dylan Wedlock just missed double figures with nine.  The Rams shot 37.7 percent from the floor. They were 35.7 percent (10- of- 28- at the 3-point line. ) The Rams got to the foul line just three times, but were three of three. The Rams had 10 assists and 20 turnovers.
  The game started with both teams hot from the floor in the first five minutes. After the opening five minutes it was tied at 16. Then the Falcons went on a 19-2 spurt that gave them a 17 point (35-18) with 8:36 in the half. The Falcons would grow that lead to 20 (55-35) at halftime.
  The Falcons would cruise in the second half. They would go above 100 points for the first time this season. It would be the Falcons sixth straight win in a home opener.
  NDC will be back in action Thursday at 7:30 PM when they host second ranked West Liberty at Murphy Gym.
