Marauders Knock Off NDC.
Central State was a 96-82 winner over Notre Dame College Thursday night at Beacom/Lewis Gym. Central improved to 10-5 on the season, while the Falcons fell to 4-10.
The Marauders, who shot 60 percent in the game had five players score in double figures. DeMarkus Isom Jones paced CSU with 26 points. He was one of two Marauders who scored more than 20 on the evening (Phillip Gates 23.) Charles Mcneal added 13 points, while George Harper and LeDonte Body netted 10 each. The Marauders shot 45 percent (9-20) from the 3-point line to go along with the 60 percent from the field. The Marauders shot 78 percent (7-9) at the foul line. They had 24 assists and turned the ball over 12 times. The Marauders also had 18 steals, including five by Isom Jones.
NDC was paced by a pair of double-doubles. Eric Dummermuth (22 points and 12 rebounds) and Lawrence DeArmond (21 points and 10 boards posted them. Tyree Gaiter had 10 points and four assists as well. NDC shot 57 percent from the field. They were not as good from the 3-point line (7-23.) The Falcons struggled at the foul line. They shot 65 percent (17-26) at the line. NDC won the rebounding battle 37-29. The Falcons had twice as many turnovers (20) as assists (10.)
The Falcons are still looking for that illusive first road win and will travel to Cedarville to battle the Yellow Jackets Saturday. Tip time is set for 4 PM.
