NDC Rolls Past Cavaliers.

The Notre Dame College Falcons improved to 4-1 (2-0 MEC) with a 80-65 win over the Cavaliers of Virginia Wise at Murphy Gym Monday night.  The loss dropped the Cavaliers to 1-4 on the season.
  NDC used a great stretch of defense to secure the victory.  The Falcons did not allow the Cavaliers to score for the first five minutes of the second half.  The Falcons had three players score double figures on the day. Lawrence DeArmond poured in a game high 29 points.  Will Vorhees notched 15- and Tyree Gaiter had his first double double of the season (12 points and 11 assists.)  NDC shot 44 percent on the day.  They struggled from the 3-point line going just 4-22.  The Falcons were a solid 70 percent (14-20) at the free throw line.  The Falcons out rebounded UVA Wise 47-40.  They also had twice as many assists (16) as turnovers eight.
   The Cavaliers also had four players score in double figures.  Phillip Owens led the way with 15 points- Charles George and Oliver Thompson each netted 12- while Aaron Meredith scored 10.  The Cavaliers shot 36 percent from the field on the day. They were 9 of 29 from the 3-point line.  The Cavaliers were not good at the free throw line where they shot 57 percent (12-21.)  They had 13 assists and 11 turnovers.
  The game started with both teams hitting on a trio of 3-pointer's early.  The game was tied until the Falcons went on a 8-2 run to go up six.  The Falcons would lead by as many as 13 (37-24) and never trailed the rest of the way.  The Cavaliers would get to within six (43-37) at halftime.
  The Falcons made five of the first six shots they took to start the second half and used a 15-0 run to put the game out of reach.  The Falcons would cruise to victory from that point.
  NDC will be back in action December 1st when they will take on Ohio Midwestern. Tip time at Murphy Gym is set for 7 PM.
