Cardinals Late Surge Turns Back Falcons.

Wheeling Jesuit used a surge late in the second half to pull away and score a 85-73 win over Notre Dame College at Murphy Gym Saturday.
  The Cardinals impoved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference with the win. The win being their fourth straight. Eric Siefert paced three Cardinals on the afternoon with 24 points. Justin Fritts added 21, and Andre Harris had 10.  The Cardinals shot 52 percent from the field- and 44 percent- from the 3-point line. They shot 50 percent on just six free throw attempts (3-6.) The Cardinals had 20 assists and 13 turnovers.  They won the rebounding battle 39-33.
  The Falcons dropped to 2-6 and 1-3 in conference play. Tyree Gaiter paced NDC with 20 points- six assists- and- five steals. Kaloma Figueroa- Jackson added 15, Jarvis Huntley chipped in 12, and Lawrence DeArmond netted 10 in the loss. NDC shot 44 percent from the field. They were just 8-30 (27 percent) from the 3-point line. The Falcons shot 73 percent (11-15) at the foul line. The Falcons had  12 assists and 15 turnovers.
  The Cardinals scored the game's first five points but the first half would be close.  It would be 46-41 in favor of the Cardinals at the half.
  The beginning stages of the second half would see NDC take a five point lead (59-54) with 15:00 to go. The Falcons would keep it close and it would be a three point game (72-69) before the Cardinals would slam the door with stifling defense. NDC would only manage one field goal the rest of the way as the Cardinals would post the win.
  NDC will be back in action Saturday December 14th when they take on Shawnee State. Tip time is set for 2 PM.
