Scarberry's Three Free Throws Lift NDC To Victory!
Down five with under a minute to go the Notre Dame College Falcons rallied and after three Drew Scarberry free throws with three seconds left stunned the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats 79-78.
Coach Tim Koenig spoke about how it was nice to finally get a result to go the way of NDC:
" We haven't seen the results we would have liked and this losing streak definitely weighed on a lot of people. This team has competed the whole time, every one of them has worked their tails off in practice and we have stayed the course. It is nice to finally get one in the old W column. "Koenig said."

Then on the next trip a Scarberry foul would put put Nick Brooks at the line where he would miss the front end of a one and one. Taylor grabbed the rebound for NDC and they would have the ball late. Scarberry was fouled by Petrovic and would calmly knock down all three free throws with three seconds left and the Falcons would escape with a victory.
Koenig was not surprised at all:
" Drew has always wanted to take the big shot. He has always wanted to be the guy with the ball in his hands at the end. No other guy I would rather have at the line in that spot but him." Koenig said.
On the game and season Angelo Cugini has had:
" Angelo is a hard nosed guy. Does a lot of things that don't show up in the box score. He is such a hard nosed kid that he broke his nose earlier in the season and has played thru it. He gets treatment on his back everyday but he is just a tough guy." Koenig said."
Another thing about Angelo is the two free throws he hit late in the game:
" Angelo has worked real hard on free throw shooting of late. He is taking extra free throws everyday and is finally starting to get some results. " Koenig said."
He also spoke about Taylor and Megins:
" KT looked like himself today for the first time since he got hurt. He is a leader and has gone from being the number two option to our go to guy since the season began. Ollie has gone from being a complimentary piece to one of our main guys this season as well." Koenig said."
Koenig spoke about only having six turnovers today:
" We only had six turnovers today, I did not not know that. It is a beautiful thing isn't it." Koenig said."
About the Bobcats big men:
" Those two big guys are really good. We did a good job of boxing out today." Koenig said."
Scarberry summed it up by saying:
" We really found a way to pull this one out. Great job all the way around." Scarberry said."
KT Taylor mentioned:
" This was a great win for us. We fought through adversity." Taylor said."
Jack Kelsheimer summed it up best:
" The bench was rocking tonight. We just found a way." Kelsheimer said."
Koenig spoke about finally having a home game (for the first time since December 9th:)
" It will be nice to get back on our home floor. I feel like we have been on buses and vans forever. It is crazy. "Koenig said."
