Falcons Look To Get Back On Track Tuesday.
The Notre Dame College Falcons look to get back on the winning track when they battle Gannon on Tuesday night. It will be the Falcons second game in Erie,PA in the past four days. Saturday they were a 86-77 loser to Mercyhurst.
Halil Parks and Oliver Megins paced the Falcons with 19 points in the loss to the Lakers. KT Taylor scored 14 and Jack Kelsheimer added 12 in the defeat. The Falcons shot 47 percent as a team- 36 percent from 3-point range- and- 92 percent (12-13) from the free throw line. The Falcons were out-rebounded 37-32. They had 15 assists and 18 turnovers.
The Falcons come into Tuesday's contest scoring 87.2 points per contest. At the defensive end they allow 93.4 points a game. NDC makes 1.6 more 3-pointer's per game than the opposition (12.1 to 10.5.) They make 15.8 free throws per game as opposed to 13.9 for the opposition. They average 41.2 rebounds a game- while the opponent gets 40.3 rebounds a contest. The Falcons are looking for that elusive first road win of the season and have dropped five straight overall.
Taylor leads the Falcons in scoring at 20.2 points per game- he adds 5.5 rebounds- and- 4.1 assists per contest. Parks is scoring 14.1 per night- Drew Scarberry 12.3 a game- while- Angelo Cugini scores 10.3 points a game and is averaging 7.5 rebounds a contest.
Gannon comes into Tuesday's game 5-5 on the year. They are 3-1 at home. The last time out they were a 71-64 winner over East Stroudsburg. Three Golden Knights scored in double figures in that one led by Jair Green with 17. Evan Phoenix posted 16 points and 10 rebounds- while Damon Miraud added 11. The Golden Knights shot 49 percent from the field- 38 percent (3-8) from the 3-point line- and- 80 percent (16-20) at the free throw line. The Golden Knights had 14 assists and 23 turnovers in the victory.
Gannon averages 66 points a game- while they give up 63 per contest. They out-rebound the opposition by more than seven rebounds per game (38.6 to 31.4)
The Golden Knights are paced on the season by Phoenix who averages 14 points and 9.2 rebounds a night. Zay Jackson scores 13.3 per night- while Green puts up 12.9 per night. Jackson also leads the team in assists at more than three per game.
