The Yelow Jackets fell to 5-6 overall and 2-6 in the conference with a tough loss.  They also had four players tally double figures.  Dominic Phillips led the way with 20.  Anton Hutchins just missed a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds.  Bo King netted 17 and Juan Johnson put up 13 in the loss.   The Yellow Jackets shot 56 percent (36-64 from the floor.) They did not shoot it well from the 3-point line where they shot 33 percent (5-15.) The Jackets were a very good 88 percent (22-25) at the foul line.  The Jackets edged NDC on the boards 35-34.  They had 15 assists and 16 turnovers.
The game started out with the two teams playing even basketball in the early going.  The Falcons would go on a 11-2 run and led by 10 (18-8) on a 3-pointer by DeArmond at the 13:55 mark in the first half.  The Yellow Jackets would fight back though and tie the game at 32 with 4:56 in the half.  The Falcons would answer with a 8-0 run of their own and take a six point lead (46-40) at the half.
The second half would see both teams shoot the ball extremely well. WV State shot 62.5 percent in the second stanza.  The Jackets would only have one lead though.  Two Dominic Phillips free throws would make it 78-77 Jackets with 6:35 to go.  The Falcons would retake the lead for good on a DeArmond layup on the next trip. That would spark a 13-2 Falcons run and gave them a 10 point lead (90-80.) The Jackets would not go quietly as they would cut it to three in the final minute.  The Falcons would hang on for the win.
NDC will be back in action Monday when they take on Charleston College (West Virginia.) Tip time at Murphy Gym is set for 7 PM.
