NDC Rolls Past Parkersburg.
The Notre Dame Falcons continued a current run of success both at home and especially on offense in a 100-81 win over West Virginia Parkersburg. Both teams now sit with identical 8-12 records.
The Falcons improved to 6-3 at Murphy Gym on the season with Friday's win. The Falcons had five players score in double figures. Eric Dummermuth poured in 21 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the way. Lawrence DeArmond and Tryee Gaiter tallied 18 and 17 points respectively, while Cam Carlin netted 15 and Jarvis Huntley chipped in 14. The Falcons shot 61 percent for the game, they were 7 of 17 from the 3-point line. The Falcons shot 73 percent 19-26 at the foul line. NDC had 23 assists and 15 turnovers and won the rebounding battle 41-31.
The Riverhawks fell to 8-12 on the year as well. Darrius Jenkins paced the Riverhawks with 22 points, Jeremy Roberts had 18, Keith Penn tallied a double-double (11 points and 13 rebounds) while Markie Tate posted a 10 point game. WVP shot 46 percent from the field, knocked down 53 percent (10-19 from the 3-point line) and shot just 42 percent (5-12) at the free throw line. The Riverhawks had nine assists and 12 turnovers.
NDC jumped out to a 17-3 lead early after knocking down there first seven field goal attempts to start the game. The Falcons led by as many as 19 in the opening half. NDC led 49-33 at the intermission. The Falcons lead would grow in the second half to as many as 21 (64-43) and they would cruise to victory.
The Falcons will be back in action on Wednesday when they take on Washington Adventist. Tip time is set for 7 PM.
