Falcons Start Season with Split in First Week.

The Notre Dame Falcons stand at 1-1 one week into the young season. NDC knocked off Westminster 91-76 last Friday, before falling to Malone 89-85 in Canton earlier this week.
  In the opener the Falcons had three players in double figures. Eric Dummermuth who red shirted a season ago due to injury returned with 32 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman Tyree Gaiter from Cleveland Heights High School had 20 points in his collegiate debut. Lawrence DeArmond added 10 for the Falcons. The Falcons shot 49 percent from the field and 39 percent from the 3-point line.
 Westminster was led by a pair of players in double figures. Doug Smith led the way with 18 points. Adam Carswell added 17. Westminster shot 41 percent from the field and hit on 9-23 3-pointers. They only shot 65 percent (17-26) at the foul line.
  The Falcons fell short against Malone 89-85 Thursday in Canton. Malone improved to 2-0 while NDC fell to 1-1.
  The Falcons had three players score in double figures. Lawrence DeArmond led the way with 20 points. Eric Dummermuth added his second straight double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Tyree Gaiter just missed a double-double with 15 points and nine assists. The Falcons shot 41 percent from the field and nailed 8-18 from the 3-point line. They were 19-25 at the free throw line. Malone won the rebounding battle 46-43.
  The Pioneers improved to 2-0 with the win. Three Pioneers scored in double digits. Isiah Elliot led the way with 28 points. Che Richardson netted 13, and Vince Kazmiecrzak added 11. They shot 43 percent from the field and knocked down 10-24 from the 3-point line. The Pioneers were 13-17 at the free throw line.
  Notre Dame will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Lake Erie at Murphy Gym. Tip time is set for 7 PM.
