Hot Shooting First Half Not Enough For Falcons.

The Notre Dame Falcons built a 14 point halftime lead but could not hang on in a 73-69 loss to Salem International (West Virginia) Saturday at T.Edward Davis Gymnasium. The Falcons fell to 4-8 despite shooting 65 percent from the field in the opening half.

NDC had three players in double digits on Saturday. Marcquice Taylor poured in a game high 23 to lead the way. Phil Biggs continued his solid season with 17 points on the night. Nate Ensz had a solid game with 10 points and 8 rebounds. The Falcons shot 41 percent for the game and went 4-10 (40 percent) from the 3-point line. The Falcons shot 72 percent (21-29) at the line. They buried themselves with 27 turnovers though. NDC won the rebounding battle 35-26.
The Tigers had four players tally double figures. Walter Brock and Kam'mar Lebrew netted 14 points each to pace the Tigers. Corey Duncan added 11 points, three rebounds and six steals in the win while Jeremy Sewell chipped in 11. The Tigers shot 37 percent from the field and 8-26 (31 percent) from the 3-point line. The Tigers were 17-19 (89 percent) from the foul line. Walter Brock was 12-12. The Tigers had 15 assists and 14 turnovers.
NDC will be back in action when they return home Wednesday night to face Urbana. Tip time is set for 7 PM at Murphy Gym.
