Dust Devils Hold Off Falcons.

The Notre Dame College Falcons (4-6) lost for the second straight game, this time 84-76 to the Dust Devils of Texas A&M International (9-3). NDC jumped out to an 18-7 lead in the early going after a Phil Biggs 3-pointer and a traditional 3-point play by Marcquice Taylor. The Dust Devils would go on 10-0 run and tie the game at 21 on a Scott Payne lay up with 9:21 to go in the opening half. The rest of the half would be played fairly evenly and it would be 40-37 TAMIU at the half. The Dust Devils would bust it open and lead by as many as 23 (78-55) late.

Both teams shot the ball extremely well in this one. NDC shot 55 percent to 54 percent for TAMIU. The Falcons were 7-13 (54 percent) from the 3-point line while the Dust Devils went 8-24 (33 percent) from the 3-point line. As it has been all season foul shooting made a huge difference. NDC shot 13-24 (54 percent) at the foul line while TAMIU shot 89 percent (16-18). The Dust Devils won on the boards 29-28. Assists were 21-15 in favor of the Dust Devils. The Falcons had 15 turnovers to 13 for the Dust Devils.
Phil Biggs led NDC with 20 points, while Marcquice Taylor had 18, Kaloma Fuguero-Jackson added 10. The Falcons will look to bounce back Saturday night when they face Saint Edwards University.
The Dust Devils had four players tally double figures Friday. Ryan McLucas leads the way with 18 points, while Scottie Payne added 14. Joe Reid (13) and Evan Matteson (12) rounded out the double digit scorers. The Dust Devils will battle Cedarville on Saturday.
