Tars Drop Knights for Seventh Straight W.

The Rollins College Tars trailed midway Thu the second half at Warden Arena on Saturday but would rally for a 67-62 win over the visiting Knights of Lynn University. With the win Rollins completed a season sweep of the Fighting Knights. The Tars improved to 16-3 (8-1 SSC) while the Fighting Knights dropped to 10-10 (4-5 SSC). Myk Brown led the way for the Tars as he had a 21 point ball game. Nick Wolf continued his streak of consecutive games in double figures with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Brock Blanchard netted 9 points to lead the Tars off the bench.

Chris Hall led the way with 16 points for the Fighting Knights. Brandon and Robert Kennedy each posted 11 point outputs on Saturday.

Lynn shot 45 percent as opposed to a 42 percent shooting day for the Tars. The men from Winter Park were 10 of 34 from three point land. The Fighting Knights had a 34-25 edge on the glass. The Tars forced Lynn into 20 turnovers while they just committed 10 themselves.

The Tars jumped out to a 10-5 lead four minutes in as Nick Wolf would account for half of those points for Rollins. The game would go back and forth for a couple of minutes before Myk Brown would drain a pair of triples to give Rollins a 28-17 lead with 8 minutes in the half. Lynn would make it a little closer before halftime as the Tars would carry a 35-30 lead into the locker room.

The game would stay that way for the first couple of minutes of the second half. Lynn would then vault into the lead 42-40 with 15:14 remaining as the Kennedy's would account for all six points during the spurt. Lynn had a four point lead with 12 minutes left but the Tars would go on a 13-2 spurt of their own to open up a 59-52 (7 point lead) with 5 minutes to go. Lynn cut the lead to four with a minute to play but would not get any closer as the Tars would seal it with some solid foul shooting. The Tars maintained a 1 game lead over Florida Southern in the SSC. The Tars will have a rare non conference game Wednesday as they will welcome Palm Beach Atlantic to Warden Arena. Tip time is set for 7:30.
