Lake Erie Edges Falcons in Tournament Final.
The Lake Erie College Storm (4-6) knocked off the host Notre Dame College Falcons (5-9) in the NDC Holiday Inn Tournament championship game Thursday at Murphy Gymnasium.
The Storm had a fantastic shooting night as they shot 56% from the floor and drained 13-25 from long range in the 81-73 win. Lake Erie was 8 of 20 of at the foul line and turned the ball over 9 times. Four Lake Erie players scored in double figures on the afternoon. Ethan Bradshaw and Matt Grendel had 16 points each. Justin Roth netted 13 and Brandon Smith added 11. The Storm got their first two wins away from home in winning the NDC tournament.
The Falcons also posted four players in double figures. Taylor Reiger led the way with 13 points for the Falcons. Phil Biggs, Eric Dummermuth and Curtis McClure added 12 points each for the "blue and white". The Falcons shot 52% from the floor and made good on 7 of 11 from long distance. NDC was 16-19 (82%) from the foul line and won the boards battle 34-23. The Falcons hurt themselves with 23 turnovers.
The Falcons will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Wilberforce. Tip time for this AMC tilt is set for 7:30 PM Tuesday. In the consolation game Windsor defeated OSU- Mansfield 105-71.
