NDC Heads To Urbana For Key MEC Game Saturday.

The Notre Dame College Falcons (4-13 2-9 MEC) take on the Urbana Blue Knights (3-13 2-9 MEC) in a key MEC conference game on Saturday at the Grimes Center. The game will tip at 4 PM and you can catch the action on NotreDameFalcons.com
  NDC comes into the contest having lost three straight. Last time out they were a 105-86 loser to Wheeling Jesuit on Wednesday. Drew Scarberry drilled eight 3-pointer's to pace the Falcons with 28 points- Kyauta Taylor added 22- Halil Parks scored all 14 of his points in the first half- and- Oliver Megins added 11. The Falcons shot 48 percent as a team- 50 percent (17-34) from the 3-point line- and- 85 percent (11-13) at the free throw line.  The Falcons had 14 assists and 20 turnovers.
 Wheeling shot 50 percent from the field- 52 percent (13-25) from the 3-point line- and- 82 percent (22-27) from the free throw line. Preston Boswell led the Cardinals with 22 points- Pat Moseh scored 21- Haywood Highsmith recorded a double-double (17 points and 10 rebounds-) while Drake Goddard scored 16 and Jeremiah Wilson netted 13.
 In the previous game NDC was a 107-78 loser to Fairmont State.  Taylor paced the Falcons with 19- Scarberry scored 15- Angelo Cugini recorded 14 points and 14 rebounds- while Halil Parks added 11. The Falcons shot 41 percent from the field- 35 percent from the 3-point line- and- 64 percent (14-22) at the free throw line.
 The Fighting Falcons were led by Andrew Emrick with 27- Cole Von Handorf had 15- RJ Hutcherson had 13- and- Caleb Davis scored 11. Fairmont shot 53 percent from the field- 38 percent (12-32) from the 3-point line- and- 73 percent (11-15) at the free throw line.  The Fighting Falcons had 18 assists and five turnovers in the win.
  NDC averages 84.4 points a game on the season- while they give up 93 a night. The Falcons make 12.8 3-pointer's per game as a team as well. Individually Taylor leads the team in scoring at 19.4 points per game- he also averages five rebounds- and- 3.6 assists a contest. Halil Parks scores 13.5 points a game-while Scarberry is averaging 13.4 a night on 40 percent shooting from the 3-point line. Angelo Cugini leads the team in rebounding at 7.4 per game and averages 9.8 points per contest.
  Urbana (3-13 2-9 MEC) is coming off a 93-73 loss to #1 West Liberty on Wednesday night. Ethan Snapp led Urbana with 12 points- while Malik Jacobs- Carlas Jackson-and- Chris Jackson each scored 10 points.  The Blue Knights shot 42 percent from the floor- 38 percent from the 3-point line- and- 78 percent (18-23) from the free throw line.  The Blue Knights had 10 assists and 21 turnovers.
 West Liberty was led by 25 points from Dan Monteroso- Evan French scored 14- and- James Griffin netted 10.
  Malik Jacobs leads the Blue Knights averaging 16.8 points a game- Carlas Jackson is putting up 12.1 a night- while Snapp is scoring 10.1 a game.  Urbana is scoring 69.6 points a game- while they allow 81.4.
  Jack Kelsheimer spoke about the importance of the game:
" This is a must win game for us to keep our playoff hopes alive(only 10 of 12 teams in the MEC make the conference tournament.)  "Kelsheimer said."
Scarberry agreed:
" Like Jack said this is a must win game. We need to come out ready to go." Scarberry said."
NDC will be back in action Wednesday when they return home to face West Virginia State.
