Taking Out Some Agression!
The Notre Dame Falcons finally got that conference win at Murphy Gym that they have been waiting for all season. The 97-50 thrashing of Wilber Force snapped a four game losing streak overall and seven game home losing streak for NDC (10-17 5-10 AMC). The Falcons were dynamite in the first half shooting 57% from the field and making good on 5 of 7 three point attempts in the opening stanza.
Four Falcons scored in double figures on the day. Eric Dummermuth paced the Falcons with another monster game. The sophomore from Dover,OH had 23 points to go along with 18 rebounds. It was the 19th double-double in 27 contests for Dummermuth. Three other Falcons scored in double numbers Saturday. Curtis McClure continued his stellar Senior season with another 22 point performance. Phil Biggs had his second double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor Reiger had four treys en route to 16 points. NDC shot 51% from the field overall and 44% (10-23) from long range. They struggled at the foul line shooting just 54% (7-13). The Falcons clobbered the Bulldogs on the boards 55-29. They also had 21 assists as a team to go along with just 8 turnovers.
"We played great and shot the ball extremely well today" coach Kevin Bille told Andy Barch from the Falcons website. "We played well on both ends of the floor and it feels great to get our first conference win of the season".
The Bulldogs struggled shooting the ball all day and looked like a completely different team than the win who lost by just 13 at home against the Falcons in the last meeting. The Falcons shot just 30% from the floor and 9-33 (27%) from three point land. They got to the foul line just 8 times making 5. The Bulldogs had just 11 assists and 16 turnovers.
The Bulldogs (5-21 3-13 AMC) had three players in double figures on the day. Darius Foster paced them with 13 points behind three triples. Tim Giles and Lance Whitfield added 10 each. The Blue and white will be back in action Tuesday when they hit the road to face Malone. Tip time is set for 8 PM in Canton.
