Solid First Half Not Enough, Falcons Fall!

The Notre Dame Falcons (4-7) came out red hot in Indiana before eventually falling to the sixteenth ranked Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan (11-3) 73-61 on Friday afternoon. The Falcons jumped out to early leads of 7-0 and 12-5. Phil Biggs and Eric Dummermuth combined for 9 of the Falcons first 12 points. NDC would lead for most of the first half before the Wildcats would close with a flourish and take a 37-33 lead into the break. The Wildcats come out sluggish and it was very evident that they had not played in the last 13 days. The second half would belong to Wesleyan, as they would roll to a 8th straight win.

Wesleyan had four players in double figures on the afternoon as they improved to 4-1 at home this season. Patrick Hopkins led the Falcons with a double double. He tallied 17 points and pulled down a game high 11 rebounds. Will Hubertz and Jordan Weidner posted 14 points each, while Derrick Troyer chipped in 12.
The Falcons were led by Eric Dummermuth who scored 15 points. Taylor Reiger was the only other Falcon in double figures. The Freshman was just 4-18 from the floor in this one. The Falcons went 22-58 from the floor. They were just 9-27 from three point land. NDC was 8-12 at the charity stripe. The Falcons were pounded on the glass, getting out rebounded 39-29.
Notre Dame will be back in action on Monday afternoon as they will face the Cougars of Mount Vernon Nazarene (6-4). Tip time is set for 4 PM.
