Falcons Fall to Shock!
The Notre Dame College Falcons (3-6) let a 65-57 lead slip away in the final 8 minutes and fell 78-73 to Washington Adventist (1-7) in the first round of the Mercyhurst tournament on Saturday night.
The Falcons tallied three players in double figures on the evening. Eric Dummermuth led the way with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Rodney Mickens scored 15, and Taylor Reiger added 12 to go along with 6 assists. The Falcons shot 26-58(45%) from the field on the night. They only made good on 9-27 (33%) of the three pointers they attempted. The Falcons shot at a 80% clip (12-15) at the free throw line while committing 16 turnovers.
The Shock broke a seven game losing streak, getting their first win of the season. They also had three players post double numbers on the night. Eric Peguero led all scorers with 25 points, Khalid Martin posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Jamie Newton rounded out the Shock double digit scorers with 12 points. The Shock shot 48% from the field and made good on 7-18 (39%) of their three point baskets. Washington Adventist was 9-13 (68%) from the foul line but out rebounded the Falcons 24-21. The Shock also had 13 miscues in the win.
NDC will be back in action Sunday afternoon for a 1 PM tip as they will battle Davis and Elkins.
