Falcons Fall To Nazarene.
The Notre Dame Falcons (4-8) fell for the second straight game. This one a 83-70 loss to Mount Vernon Nazarene(7-4) at the P.E. Center in Mount Vernon,OH.
The Cougars were led by a pair of players in double figures on the afternoon. Adam Grimm led the way with 20 points on 6 of 11 shooting. Robbie Taylor netted 18 on 5 of 1o from the floor, including 3 of 5 from long range. The Cougars shot 27-53 (51%) for the game. The Cougars were also efficient from beyond the arc going 8 of 15. The Cougars were a rock solid 81% (21-26) from the charity stripe. The Cougars also did a great job of taking care of the ball, with just 9 turnovers.
The Falcons had three players in double figures on the afternoon. Eric Dummermuth poured in a game high 27 points to go along with 11 rebounds. He was 9 of 18 from the floor along with 9 of 10 at the foul line. Phil Biggs and Taylor Reiger added 15 points each for the blue and white. Reiger was 5 of 15 from the floor but struggled from long range going just 1 of 8. Biggs was 6 of 9 from the floor, 1 of 1 from distance and 2 of 2 at the free throw line. Notre Dame shot 39% from the floor and went 3 of 19 from three point land. One improvement for the Falcons on this afternoon was at the foul line. They went 17-21 (81%) from the stripe. The Falcons lost the battle on the boards 36-32. NDC like the Cougars, also did an excellent job of taking care of the ball as they only had 5 turnovers.
The Falcons will take a little over a week off before they host Ohio State- Mansfield in the first round of the Falcons annual Christmas tournament at Murphy Gym. Tip time on December 29th is set for 6 PM.
